Nutella Straight From The Jar
Do you give into food cravings even though you know you shouldn’t?
My diet is normally pretty good. I love eating healthy food and I try to stick to a similar diet that my youngest son, Taj, is on to control his behaviour traits. But sometimes life gets a little bit boring eating the similar foods all the time. For me, when this happens I get a MASSIVE craving for Nutella.
Now I’m not talking about some little craving that can be cured by eating something that is similar to Nutella but healthier for me. I tried to have something earlier, something that was lower in calories – Milo. Milo is another food/drink that I have loved my entire life. Most times, Milo will cure any food craving. Most times.
Not this time. After consuming a 4 heaped teaspoon Milo with milk in a medium sized glass, I realised that instead of curing my craving for Nutella, it had only made it worse. Crikey!
So, I tried to distract myself and I succeeded for about an hour or so. I washed the dishes, cleaned the kitchen bench and finished wrapping up the last of the Christmas presents. Still that craving for Nutella was there, telling me to get up and eat some.
And I did! It was GREAT! So yummy! Three heaped teaspoons of Nutella straight from the jar later, I felt SO much better. At last, the craving was finally satisfied =)
Now, I am sitting here typing this. It’s been about 15 minutes since that craving and I am starting to regret giving into it so easily. . . . I have a headache brewing from all the crap that is IN Nutella – my diet is free from preservatives, additives and anything else that isn’t grown naturally.
Even though I know that I shouldn’t eat Nutella, I still do. It’s just one of those things that just simply happens.
I guess everyone has to have a vice.
