Mexican Cornbread

1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup cream-style corn
3 eggs
1/4 cup bacon drippings or oil
1 cup sour cream
2 canned green chilies, chopped
1 cup grated cheese
Mix all ingredients except cheese and beat well. Bake in 10inch glass pie pan, buttered. Put in 1/2 batter, 1/2 the cheese, balance of batter, balance of cheese. Bake at 350* for 35 minutes.
