How to Make Almond Wine
You can make good tasting wine at home from almost anything and this is a very of tasty Almond wine recipe to give a try if you are feeling adventurous and fancy something different to drink.
Making your own wine at home is a great way of getting great tasting at a fraction of the cost, however it is not a quick process so patients will be required. This is the recipe I personally use for making almond wine, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Ingredients for Almond Wine Recipe No 2.
1-1/2 oz. bitter almonds
1 lb. raisins
3 lb. granulated sugar
1 gallon water
2 lemons
Yeast and nutrient
Method
Mince the almonds and raisins, then gently simmer in 1 gallon water for an hour.
Strain the liquor from the boiled almonds, raisins and water onto a one gallon demijohn and add the sugar, stirring until dissolved. Once the sugar is dissolved top the mixture up with fresh water to bring it back to a gallon.
Add lemon zest and juice and allow to cool to 70 degrees. Add yeast and nutrient, cover, and stir twice a day for 10 days.
Strain through fine-mesh sieve into fresh dmijon bottle and fit airlock and store for . Strain into a fresh demijohn after 30 days, then again after 6 weeks.
Strain into bottle’s after an additional 6 weeks and leave to condition for a year.
Once the year is up enjoy
