Are you slaving over a turkey for Thanksgiving? Here is an easy way and great way to cook it. Enjoy a stress free day.
One thing I love about the holidays is the scent of the turkey cooking in the oven. Yum is the word for the smell that permeates the house.
I have cooked my turkey this way for years and I am going to tell you the easy way to cook it. There are a lot of concerns about salmonella but I have never experienced this with the way I cook my turkey for over 30 years. Here is how I cook it. Make sure your oven is clean and neat.
- I buy a Reynolds turkey oven bag
- I place the 20 pound stuffed turkey in this bag into a turkey pan
- I turn the oven on 200 degrees to bake
- And I put the turkey in around 10pm
- I wake up in the morning at 8am and smell turkey
- At 10AM I turn up the oven to 375 and cook the turkey for 2 hours with foil over top of the turkey while the turkey is in the pan
- The popper comes up between 12 noon and 1pm and the turkey is done
- Its juicy and delicious and easy to cook
