How to Catch a Ninja Mouse

You have exhausted every mouse trap known to man. And that’s when you realize you aren’t dealing with a regular mouse. Here is a homemade mouse trap that will get him this time.

Step 1

Collect all the necessary supplies. You will need.

  • An empty ice cream pail
  • Wax paper
  • A large rubber-band (should be able to fit around the pail)
  • 2-3 wooden mouse traps
  • Knife
  • Thread
  • Bait (anything that can be tied to the string)

Step 2

Pick a prime location to set up your trap. Choose somewhere you can tie the bait over the pail (under the sink, in your closet, in a cupboard, ect.) I placed mine under the kitchen sink where I was able to tie the bait to one of the pipes.

Step 3

Place as many of the wooden traps as you can fit into the bottom of the pail. Make sure that these traps are set. Be careful, these do hurt if they snap on your finger. And can set off a chain reaction with so many in close proximity.

This step is optional. However, by this point I am sure you have realized that you are not dealing with just any mouse. Remember this is a ninja mouse. And the odds of him climbing out of the pail are pretty high.

Step 4

Use enough wax paper to completely cover the top of the ice cream pail. And secure it to the pail with the elastic band. Being very careful not to set off any of the trap in doing so. Don’t worry this can take a few tries.

Step 5

Carefully (remember knife safety!) cut an X into the center of the wax paper. Just large enough that a mouse could fall through the hole.

Step 6

Place the pail in the chosen location.

Step 7

Tie the bait to the thread and then tie the thread to something above the pail. Make sure the bait dangles about 3 inches directly above the hole in the wax paper.

You’re done! Now all you have left to do is wait. The mouse will smell this food and will be so distracted in getting the dangling bait that he won’t notice the hole you have cut into the wax paper. He will then reach for the bait and fall through the hole where he is greeted by your waiting traps.

Happy Mouse catching!
