Holiday Recipes: Cheesecake Brownie Bars
Here is a yummy recipe my mom makes each year for Christmas.
From Duncan Hines 1991 cookbook
Brownie layer
1 package Duncan Hines Brownies Plus Walnuts Mix
1 egg
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Cheesecake layer
1nPackage (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons butter softened
2 eggs
2 Tablespoons milk
1 Tablespoon all purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips, divided
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease bottom of 13×9x2 inch pan
2. For brownie layer, combine brownie mix, egg, water and oil in large bowl. Stir with spoon until well blended, about 50 strokes. Spread in pan. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.
3. For cheesecake layer, combine cream cheese, sugar and butter in large bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add eggs, milk, flour and vanilla extract. Beat at low speed until well blended. Stir in 3/4 cup chocolate chips. Pour over brownie layer. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cups chocolate chips. Bake at 350F for 35-40 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely. Refrigerate until ready to serve and store leftovers in refrigerator.
