The importance of a healthy diet for longevity and health, to maintain a healthy lifestyle begins with healthy cooking, healthy food, etc. The following tips can help healthy cooking.

Low Fat cooking Tips:

• Use low-fat yogurt or skim milk as a thickener for recipes with cream.

• Instead of cooking oil use cooking spray.

• Choose lean meat and remove fat.

• Instead of frying, boiling or baking.

• Instead of mayonnaise on sandwiches, low fat spreads used as a sauce or tomato sauce.

• Use low-fat milk instead of whole milk.

• Use non-stick pan during cooking if you do not use oil much more.

• Use fat-free chicken broth.

• Cook fish, eggs and chicken in some water.  The cooking method is known as poaching.

• Use cooking methods, low-fat steaming, baking, boiling, frying, grilling or stir-frying.

• Use olive oil for cooking at medium or salad dressings.

• To prevent absorption of excess oil, remove and drain on paper towels.

Cooking tips for the conservation of elements:

• steamed vegetables or microwave rather than boiling.

• Avoid using copper pots.  It destroys the vitamin content.

• Avoid cooking at high temperatures, which can destroy some vitamins due to oxidation.

• Wash vegetables before cutting them, but after the cut.

• Steaming is the art of fine cuisine, it retains more nutrients than boiling.

• Use water from boiled vegetables and dhal for soups and sauces.

• Instead of soaking the vegetables, rinse quickly.

• Boil the potatoes and beets with the skin.

• Instead of peeling vegetables, shrubs, because many nutrients are found in the skin.

• Try to cook the vegetables as a whole, then cut the nutrients are retained.

• Keep vegetables in the refrigerator to preserve the vitamin content.

• Add a pinch of salt and bring vegetables.

• During cooking, no strain water rice starch.

• Do not soak the fruit for 15 minutes in water.

KITCHEN TIPS LOW SODIUM:

• Limit the amount of margarine and butter, because they contain too much salt.

• Use fresh or frozen vegetables, canned vegetables and salt.

• Limit your intake of cheese, because it contains salt, use salt or cheese.

• Use lemon juice, vinegar or spices to reduce the need for salt.

• Limit salt consumption of processed meats.

• Reduce the use of sauces and salt containing a large quantity.

• Limit intake of pickles and pickled cucumbers are high in salt.

• Do not put too much salt to your food.

Healthy Cooking GENERAL:

• Use clean and tidy, cutting tools, especially knives and cutting boards.

• Use little water during cooking.

• Avoid using food coloring, so it poses serious health problems.

• Use less soda or baking powder, and that irritates the intestine.

• Keep the lid closed, especially when it comes to vegetables to retain the green color.

• Avoid foods that are often treated with pesticides.

• Always cut into pieces because they contain more vitamins.
