Great Recipe Sites to Try

The Internet is a great place to look for new recipes, and these are a few of my favorite sites.

If you are like me and tire of your own cooking from time to time, you probably enjoy looking for new recipes.  I have found three sites that I particularly enjoy browsing.  One of these is www.allrecipes.com.  This site has thousands of recipes, submitted by real people, tested by real people.  Reviews and ratings are available for each recipe, as well as calorie counts.  There is also a feature by which you may scale up or down a recipe, depending upon whether you are cooking for a smaller or larger group.

Another of my favorites is very similar.  It is found at www.cooks.com.  This has a section for “600 calorie meals,” “Mexican,” “Outdoor” and many, many other categories by which you may search or browse.  The tabs at the top of the page offer conversions and suggested cooking times for common foods, recipe reviews, nutrition facts and more.

A third site that is very helpful if you are trying to cook more healthy meals is www.sparkrecipes.com.  Its focus is lower calorie, lower fat, reduce sodium meals, and it even offers a service by which you may input your own custom recipes and have the calorie count for them generated.  This is especially helpful if you are counting calories since more food charts vary wildly from dish to dish, even if they are homemade.

So, if you are looking for a new recipe to try tonight, or if you are curious about how many calories are in your famous chocolate chip cookies, your answers are just a few clicks away!
