Persons who have low blood pressure should be very careful when taking garlic, since garlic is used to lower blood pressure and cholesterol. If you have low blood pressure make sure you speak with your health care practitioner before using any garlic supplements.
Garlic health benefits are derived mainly from allicin, an organic compound which is present in the herb. Allicin prevents blood clots, cancer and bacterial infection.
When using garlic in cooking, to receive the most health benefits, crush the garlic before cooking with it.
