Garlic Health Benefits

Garlic health benefits can be enjoyed by ingesting garlic regularly.

We can ingest garlic by using it in cooking, or even swallowing garlic whole. Some persons crush garlic and apply it as a paste to receive some garlic health benefits.

If you don’t like the taste of garlic, you can still enjoy garlic health benefits by taking it in other forms. Garlic supplements are said to have a weaker taste than fresh garlic. Unfortunately, according to ScienceDaily.com, garlic supplements are also thought to be less effective than fresh garlic.

Garlic health benefits are often experienced quickly. Be very cautious when using garlic. Persons who have low blood pressure should be very careful when taking garlic, since garlic is used to lower blood pressure and cholesterol. If you have low blood pressure make sure you speak with your health care practitioner before using any garlic supplements.

Garlic health benefits are derived mainly from allicin, an organic compound which is present in the herb. Allicin prevents blood clots, cancer and bacterial infection.

When using garlic in cooking, to receive the most health benefits, crush the garlic before cooking with it.
