Easy to Make Pizza Dough

The secret to any good homemade pizza.

For any of you amateur cooks out there craving some pizza goodness, here’s an easy way to make some dough.

Have at your disposal the following:

Ø  1 cup of warm water (3/4 full)

Ø  1 teaspoon yeast

Ø  1 teaspoon sugar

Ø  500 g – 1 kilo bread flower

Ø  Any type of bowl for the mix

Put the yeast and the sugar in the cup of water and leave it (you could also add 2 teaspoons of olive  oil, to make the dough fluffier).  The water doesn’t need to be too hot, and some even prefer using cold water, but warmer water will help activate the yeast.

Put some flower in the bowl and add a knife tip of salt if you prefer. After a few minutes, the water and yeast mixture should start to foam. Add some water (not all of it) to the bowl of flower and begin mixing. You could use a spoon for this process, but you’re going to get your hands dirty later on anyway. Mix until the flower absorbs the water. The goal is to get the dough to not stick to your fingers anymore, so just add flower or water as may be needed.

When you form a nice elastic ball of dough, throw some flower on the table and get ready for some fun.  Begin kneading the dough for a few minutes, adding more flower if you consider the consistency is not what you would like. Here’s a video illustrating the process:

And that’s it. One of the daunting things about making pizza Is actually one of the simplest and fun to do. You could leave the dough to rise, or put it in a fridge overnight for it to get that pizza parlor flavor, so make if you want to make a pizza, you have a batch ready beforehand.

Just add what toppings you like(olives, cheese, mushrooms ). In the absence of any special sauce, ketchup will do just fine.
