Dessert Pizza: Pizza Made with Fruit

Most of us probably don’t think of pizza as something we would serve for dessert but you sure can and it is delicious; made with cookie dough and fresh fruit. Here is how to make it…

DESSERT PIZZA: Pizza made with fruit

Just about everyone likes pizza and we all have our favorite style of pizza;

For me I like extra cheese and having it topped with lots of yummy roasted vegetables; one or two slices of this pizza, a green salad and a tall cool drink

makes a wonderful meal…I don’t always add the veggies, especially if I am having pizza for dessert…Oh yes, pizza for dessert.  It is fun to make and everyone I know really loves it.  It is made with cookie dough and ladened with yummy fruit.  Here is how to make it…

Preheat oven 350 degrees

1 package (18 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough softened to room temperature
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
4 cups (about) of assorted fresh fruit

Place dough on round pizza pan or baking stone and press into shape

Bake in preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

Remove from oven and cool.

For topping, combine cream cheese and sugar and mix well

Spread cream cheese mixture liberally over cookie dough

Top with fresh fruit; slices of kiwi, sliced strawberries, banana, blueberries, slices of pear, mango, pineapple, melon like cantaloupe or honey dew or whatever your favorite fruits may be.  Slice it as you would a pizza and serve.

It is easy and fun to make and it is fun to eat:  And your kids will love having pizza for dessert.
