Dad’s Delicious Homemade Pork Seasoning

This is my recipe for making a delicious homemade pork rub seasoning.

Many of you who have read my past articles know I do all of the cooking at home. Consequently, I am always on the lookout for new recipes, or putting my own spin on some classics.

I cook a lot of pork roasts, pork chops and pork tenderloins. I use my pork rub seasoning on all of them and the outcome is a flavorful explosion of goodness.

1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder

2 Teaspoons of Onion Powder

2 Teaspoons of Sage

1 Teaspoon of Thyme

1 Teaspoon of Salt

1 Teaspoon of Celery Salt

1/2 Teaspoon of Black Pepper

1 Teaspoon of Italian Seasoning

1 1/2 Teaspoon of Paprika

Mix the above dry ingredients in a small bowl and pour into a screw top container and store in a dry place.

When I use this recipe, I incorporate 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil with at least 1 tablespoon of pork seasoning and then rub it into the meat. If I’m cooking a roast or tenderloin, I sear the meat first in a frying pan before baking. On pork chops however, I cook them in a frying pan with onions and simply season each side of the chops.

If you are looking for restaurant quality flavor, that packs a punch of tastiness, then I highly recommend you give this winning Dad’s recipe a try.
