When we think of bronchitis we think of going outside without gloves and hats on a cold day. four years ago I got bronchitis in August in a heatwave if it wasn’t bad enough. I am going to give you some herbs you might choose to use if and when you have bronchitis.

Garlic is antiviral and antibacterial, so you should consume a plethora of it.
Garlic contains a chemical allicin, garlic is the most powerful of the antiseptic plants. Did you ever run into somebody that had garlic for lunch and it comes out of them in their breath. This is because the allicin is being secreted in their lungs. This is what makes garlic so good for bronchial problems because it goes straight to the lungs which is what is irritated with bronchitis.
Mullein has been used for thousands of years for treatment of respiratory problems because it is an expectorant. It will help calm down that scratchy throat and halts the muscle spasms that cause you to cough.
The English plaintain is approved by Germany’s Commission E ,which has a good reputation on analyzing herbs, for bronchial problems. It is regarded the world over as a great way to get rid of coughs. To use, make it into a tea with 1 cup boiling water with a teaspoon of the dried herb.
Dr. James Duke says when he is seeking advice on herbs, he does not ask the FDA because he would rather ask Commission E of Germany which has gained reputation of analyzing herbs well. The FDA says horehound does not help coughs while Commission E . Dr Duke says you can use horehound for bronchitis by having a cup of it that is strong. Make it strong by 1 cup of boiling water and 2 teaspoons of horehound.
Ivy is another herb that Commission E suggests for respiratory problems and bronchitis.
