What are the Best Toothpastes?

This is what dentists and others in the know say about their favorite toothpaste. Which whitens, prevents cavities and gingivitis, or sooths sensitive teeth? Listed here are some of the best.
How do you choose the best toothpaste when there are so many different ones in the store? Here are some of the best from professionals in the know and other folks who have their own opinions
Colgate Total
For gingivitis, plaque, and cavities; Dentist Sean Grady of Grady Dental Care in Duluth, Ga. has a background in biology and has a discerning eye when it comes to toothpaste, knowing how the ingredients in toothpaste effect the health of your mouth Dr. Grady says, “I use and recommend Colgate Total because it is the best. It is the only one with antimicrobial triclosan which is proven to prevent gum disease, plaque and gingivitis.”
Sensodyne Original flavor Toothpaste
New Jersey public relation specialist Linda Condrillo says her sensitive teeth were making her life unbearable until she switched to Sensodyne Original flavor Toothpaste a few years ago. Hot tea-cold milk-was so painful for my teeth.” It works well and I have no more pain”.
Colgate Baking Soda and Peroxide Whitening
Laura Elston is a professional clown. She says, “If I have even slightly yellow teeth it stands out against my white face paint and I don’t want to scare the children. I’ve tried different toothpastes, and they don’t work any better to justify the price; Colgate doesn’t cost five dollars a tube and it does the job.”
Crest Cavity Protection Fluoride Toothpaste, Cool Mint Jell
Paula Nicola, M.D., a general ophthalmologist in Chattanooga, TN says this is the only brand strong enough to keep her breath minty fresh for close-ups. “Since eye doctors are always smelling patients breath, it makes us hyper aware of ours,” Says Dr. Nicola. “I’ve tried many other toothpastes but I’ve found my breath smells fresher, longer with Crest.”
Oral-B Stages Rocket Berry
Colorado dad Mike Bates found himself on the brink of bribing his five year old son to brush. My son complained about the flavor of other toothpastes being “hot’ meaning the mint flavor was too strong. Mike returned to the store and came home with this berry flavored formula. “It’s milder which he really likes, and it’s just as effective.

Good job ,Ruby. Nice article. Hey, I tried to comment on Poetry Lines which I really liked. The site will not stay up more than a few mins. And this site will not let me like it. Sorry, hope Triond can fix these problems.

Very good information, Ruby. It is harder to find a sensitive toothpaste when you use a power brush. After trying many I found Aqua Fresh Sensitive works for me.

I would be careful when listening to what Dr. Sean Grady says he didn’t really seem to care about my family dental care.
