What a Crock!

In my experience, what Bank of America says and what it actually does, behind the scenes, is vastly different.

I just read that Bank of America was on Twitter, ready to respond to any questions or problems their members had. Further, that they would respond within twenty-four hours. Why should your card-members, who ask a question on Twitter, expect such prompt service? You certainly do not provide this kind of punctual service to the general card-member who has been with you for years. You know, the ones who try to contact your staff by e-mail and phone on a regular basis and get the bums rush. That is, when the Bank of America employees  bother to respond at all!

I, personally, know of three separate  such occasions.  My husband contacted Bank of America in the past eighteen months by phone to try to get our interest rate reduced, based on a postcard your company sent in the mail to us.

I tried to tell him he was wasting his time. What can I say, my husband is less cynical than I am. I believe, Bank of America, once a liar, always a liar. After all, you’ve proven time and time again that what you practice is deception, not customer service.

What was the response to my husbands calls? He was shuffled from person to person until he ended up  right back where he started. With the first person. This person put him on hold, again, came back five minutes later and told him that with the card he had they would not lower the rate. Surprise!

Do you think that your so knowledgable staff could have cut the phone shuffle and just admitted they had no intention of helping us? That prior payment history meant nothing!

But I digress. No, what happens to the everyday working class people who have paid their bills in a timely manner for years, never late. Do they get any perks? No.

Now, let’s fast forward to this wonderful economy, shall we? What do we find? The American people in a world of hurt with no end in sight. Jobs are being lost by the hundreds and where they still have their jobs, well, every dime counts, as there is no overtime.

These are just the broadstrokes that people like me are up against. Let’s add in the medical bills and various prescription medications that are unexpectedly needed on a monthly basis. Now what?

I’ll tell you. Bank of America has become even less available to it’s cardmembers than before. For the past four months, no matter when we called, the day or time, it didn’t matter. The Bank of America’s phone has rang and rang. What, did you give all your employees vacations at the same time? I certainly hope they enjoyed it. Not everyone has the luxury of going on vacation or the money to spend on it.

Let me bottom line it for you. You, the Bank of America cardmember, like me, probably have not used your creditcard in many a month. (For me it has been over a year)We try to use it only in emergencies. Even though you aren’t making any new purchases, have been paying your bills first, before anything else, you still aren’t making any headway on your balance.

Guess what? You could be next. That one, unexpected trip to the hospital or your electricity bill goes up more than it usually does next month. Boom.

You have to choose, do I send a partial payment to Bank of America this month and pay my light and water bills or do I send Bank of America a full payment? My family can do without lights and water this month, can’t they? Think about it. You’ll see then how available Bank of America really is!
