Using a stain remover, spray the stained area. Let it sit for about 10 minutes so the remover can do its work. The solution will penetrate the fabric. When time is up, wipe the stain with your towel or washcloth. Most of the dirt or mud should come off during this process. Rinse the fabric with cold water. Make sure to wash and dry your fabric according to the label.
Butter knife, paper towel, washcloth (should be white), washing machine and stain remover are some the items needed to get dirt stains out.
Spray the stain again with the stain remover. Place the item in the washing machine and put it through a wash cycle. When the cycle is complete, take the garment out of the machine and check for the stain. If it is gone, place the garment in the dryer and put it through a cycle (optional). If the stain still is there, spray it again with stain remover and let it sit longer, and put it through another wash cycle. Or take it to a dry cleaner.
