The Way We Wear
How fashion affect our daily lives.
People try in vain to usurp power everyday, wearing all sorts of things to create a name for themselves, knowing that fashion allows people to influence, dictate, and overwhelm lesser mortals. Such is the power of clothes. Such is the power of fashion.
Now is the right time to meet coll new people! To those who like to play it safe or simple: step back! To hip-hoppers, sleek urbanites, trashers, wannabees, brand conscious people, fashion victims, and fashionistas: move over and make way for…
Plain
They are the ones trying to be safe, they wear jeans with any basic top with any basic-not-so-striking footwear. They exist outside the fashion police radar – free from assessment and criticism. Comfort is their utmost priority. And interestingly, they would put on whatever they can pull out from the closet. No second thoughts… No early-morning-fashion-shows…
Classic Mom and Dad
Classic moms and dads usually wear padded and colorful button-down blouses in chiffon, straight-cut slacks or jeans and polo shirts or roundnecks tucked neatly in jeans respectively. Though most of us think that they need a makeover, seeing them is actually a nice way of remembering how it was in their younger years when dressing up was effortless. A proof that classic style never fades.
Preggy
I so love these women who go out of their way to dress up and remain in style instead of just worrying about their figures and how no clothes do not flatter their figures anymore. All their hassles of being pregnant is enough to make them busy – but they still go gaga on the latest clothing line.
Sporty
One cannot wear rubber shoes, sweat pants, jerseys, or jackets and tag themselves “sporty”. It may seem like it’s easy to pull off this look but the truth is that it takes a lot of character to be able to carry such ensemble. Being sporty is not just how the clothes are put together, it is how one lives and carries out the lifestyle itself.
Metrosexuals
Due to the fact that gay men are the prototypes for metrosexuality, people often think that these creatures have issues with their sexual orientation. British Journalist Mark Simpson who coined the term in 1994 said: Metrosexuality is trait of urban men spending an enormous amount of money and time with regards to appearance and lifestyle. He sees it as having a strong aesthetic sense. Metrosexuals have what is known as a “camp” factor – in general slang terms they are “camp but straight”. They are often seen sporting the latest in men’s fashion. This breed color-coordinates, cares deeply about hygiene, and desires to be what they see in magazines and advertisements. Metrosexuals are not just your average Joe or the boy-next-door. They have something extra which makes their star shine a little bit brighter than the others.
