Raising Gas Prices

Raising gas prices from a commuters perspective.

I am a commuter, I have to because that is where my job is, I don’t know anyone else who lives where I do that works in the same area. So I am stuck. Yes I could move but then my teens would disown me. I think it is ridiculous to spend money on four dollar a gallon gasoline, but do we have a choice?

The government won’t do anything about it, because they would loose millions or billions of dollars on revenue not to mention the money for running for office. I don’t claim to be a genius on government issues, nor am I trying to be. But why should politicians worry, no money, no ability to run for office, and who gives them more money for campaign runs than anyone else? The oil industry, (staring to see a trend here). They all tell us what we want to hear, we buy it, then we end up paying for it and regretting it don’t we? No wonder I don’t vote, that’s right I don’t because I don’t believe anything any of them have to say.

Gas prices continue to rise, nothing is not done nor will anything be done to stop the rising prices, oil companies will continue to take, as long as we continue to give and do nothing about it. Our economy is suffering, low home market value, high foreclosure rate, repossession on the rise, higher unemployment by the month, our Medical care for the elderly sucks, just to name a few “National Level” issues. It is easier for illegal aliens in this country to get medical care, open a business, or get a education than it is for a born US citizen, think we have a problem here?

The government traps us with incentives such as the “stimulus package” or other “tax breaks”, got yours yet? Clinton, Obama, and McClaine all talk about change in America, yes its changing all right, for the worse. Its called recession, problem is no one will admit it. Sometimes things just don’t make sense to me, take the 22 million dollars the IRS spent on sending out letters to homes for example.

As far as I am concerned, “show me the money”, I have to have a letter telling me when I am getting my stimulus rebate? I thought we were a nation that worked smarter not harder. On top of that the timeline has yet to meet what the IRS said it would. Our economy needs us to work so we can spend money in it, but how can we spend when we have use all we make just to keep the heat on and gas in our car? All we can do is stand back and watch our nation implode on itself and hope something changes for the better. Ok wishful thinking. Just think your kids get to inherit our mess.
