Price Vs. Quality Car Stereo

Which would you choose? Are you the type of person who just wants something cheap and easy to install, or are you the type of person who wants quality sound gear installed at a reasonable price?
When you go out to your favorite local car stereo saler, what is it that you look for?
Are you looking to get the most BANG for your Buck? Or are you just looking to get something cheap and easy?
I spend a decent amount of time in a few different shops in my area, and I will tell you, the rising amount of people who come in looking for the cheapest gear they can get, is driving me nuts!
Did you know that a radio, alarm or any other vehicle accessory has to be installed correctly and precisely in order to make sure that your vehicle continues to run efficiently after its installed?
You depend on your vehicle not to stop working in the middle of a drive, and to keep you safe as you transport your kids, family and self through out the day. So tell me, with all that in mind, why would you sacrifice the quality of a product or install when it comes to your car stereo and accessories?
Everyone is so scared in the recent economy, that they want to make sure they get the absolute best deal they can get when they go to buy their car stereo.
Some say, “Its not that important, so I don’t want to spend that much on it”
Others say, “Its just a radio, how hard could it be to install it? I could do it myself, so I’m not paying that much for it.”
THIS IS SUCH A DANGEROUS WAY TO THINK!
Your car is a complex machine with wiring, mechanical and accessories that need to be carefully worked around when installing any sort of accessory into your car.
When an accessory is installed incorrectly, it can cause electrical fires and the break down of some of the most important safety functions on your vehicle.
Do you feel your brakes are important? GOOD! Because if an installation is done wrong, or is sloppy, it can cause break failure!
How about those airbags? Do you trust them to save you in an emergency? Because if an accessory install is done incorrectly, it can cause your air bags to fail when you need them the most!
Brake failure, air bag failure, electrical fires and more. They are all things to be avoided when you think about getting car stereo or accessories installed into your vehicle.
Want to know what the biggest causes of brake and air bag failure, or electrical fires?
There are two major reasons these things happen.
1. The customer bought what they wanted and then attempted to install it themselves, but because they were not a professional installer, they ended not grounding a wire here or there, or they tapped into the wrong wire for power, or they forgot to put a fuse at the battery. Or for some other reason they installed in wrong because they thought they could save a few pennies by doing it themselves.
2. A Disgruntled Installer
How would you feel, if someone came into your work and told you that they were going to pay you less than half of what you are worth, to do a job that takes long hours and emense concentration? You would be upset! Thats right! How dare they try to rip you off for your time. But you have to do it, because your boss just came out and said that you do it for less then your worth, or you lose your job. Thats a hell of a day, isn’t it? You go home upset and angry, which really doesn’t make you want to be careful, does it?
Professional installers at car stereo and alarm shops are there to do you a great and wonderful service. They keep your car from exploding when a new accessory is installed. They make sure your brakes, air bags and other important functions are properly taken care of. They make sure that everything is properly insulated and fuses are put in the right places so that nothing catches on fire, or comes loose after you leave.
Does that sound like an important job to you? Is does to me!
So think about it, when you walk into a shop looking for the best deal, you are most likely going to get it because the store cut your installers labor price in half, and if you were in your installers shoes, you would not be happy about that.
You definitely don’t want to upset your installer. That person will make sure you are safe on the ride home, and they will be there day after day to help you in the future. IF you take care of them.
Don’t worry so much about a deal. Don’t worry so much about getting the best price. Worry more about the quality you are getting, and you get what you pay for! If you want cheap, fast and easy, thats what you will get. But cheap, fast and easy does not equal quality.
Remember also, that if you only have a certain budget to spend on your car stereo, alarm or other accessories and it does not fit into the normal budget that a shop or store will give you, than you SHOULD NOT be buying anything at that time. Save your money and come back when you can afford service the right way. The quality way.
Trust me. You will get better gear, a better install, and after a few months it will have earned its value back and you will have a store that will treat you right for a life time.
Now.. Isn’t that better than getting dirty looks and broken crooks working on your car?
I think so.
