Pre-paid Cell Phones

My advice on pre-paid cell phones.

Cell phones are becoming more and more popular in the new age. Even now, with a slowing economy people are still buying cellular phones. Mostly because the cell phone industry is becoming so vast that the prices are sometimes cheaper monthly then having a home phone connection. About two years ago a study showed that more than half of the world’s population had cell phones.

Some people even have phones without signing a contract through a company. Using pre-paid phones. Basically buying a cell phone then buying time cards to put minutes on it. I’m sure you’ve heard. The bad thing is though it’s about 10 cents a minute and 50 cents a text. And the reception is just about worse than the prices.

I use Sprint unlimited. Which I’ve found to be way better than the pre-paid phone my girl friend used to use herself. Every time we’d talk I couldn’t understand her through the static, and we’d have to hurry because of the minute cost. I would recommend never buying one. Not to mention that the phones themselves are pretty expensive, too.

Even some of the companies that offer a no-contract-plan are still poor in quality and high in cost. The saying ‘you get what you pay’ for isn’t always true. Especially with cell phones. You can overpay for crappy quality or find a good price for a good deal. But if you’re looking for cell phone service, steer clear of pre-paid deals. Sprint, Alltel, AT&T, are all pretty good wireless companies to go with.
