News in the Bathroom

On average, a person spends 1162 hours in the bathroom during his entire life. That is the same as 1 year 4 months and 5 days.

So don’t toilets deserve a special list of interesting technological support?

10th place: It is possible to buy toilet paper with portraits of famous politicians in Poland. They are depicted in the most random situations and positions: for example, building a sandcastle in a sandbox or taking a bath.

9th place: The most expensive public toilet was built in Berlin: its construction cost 750,000 euro. The walls of it are illuminated with pleasant smooth lightning, moving bubbles of air in water are constantly being projected on it. Relaxing music is always playing in the background. On every urinal there is a flag used in golf, that according to the main designer of the project, will help the customers to “aim better”.

8th place: “Magic Mirror” from the Chinese company “Magic Display” is a mirror. But in order to understand this one has to use it by its purpose. While a person is far from the device, it is showing a lighted-up advertisement. But as soon as you come closer to the high-tech mirror, its detector recognizes movement, and the picture disappears.

7th place: One of the most popular accessories in Japanese bathrooms are vibrating soaps. As soon as one picks it up, it goes into vibrating mode automatically. Now the most important is not to let it fall, and – burr! – your hands will be in soap.

6th place: Several bulletproof public toilets were installed in Peking. Still, it isn’t that popular among the local population, even if the instructions to it were recently translated to Chinese (originally they were only in several European languages).

5 place: The toilet presented on the exhibition “Ideal Home Show” is equipped with a TV-screen, DVD-player, and a built-in stereo sound system. Besides that, the user is offered the access to approximately 1000 music tracks via the iPod.

4th place: Toilets of the company “Inax” are even more “user-friendly”. The toilet is lighted during nights and plays music the client chooses. There are 6 possibilities: birds singing, relaxation, classic music, waterfall noise, and traditional Japaneses harp.

3d place: An American company offers a VIP-toilet with a remote control. Come closer to it, and its cover opens. If you stand for a longer time without attempting to sit down, the seat will also go up. The flushing is also automatic, and the unique technology lets it perform the flush without the traditional water-tank. Besides all that, the toilet allows regulation of the temperature of the seat.

2nd place: “Rss stroom reader” is a device that combines the functions of a toilet paper holder, an rss reader, and a printer. While you are doing what you’re doing, this thing prints the latest news on the paper. After that you can use the paper whichever way you like.

1st place: The company “AquaOne Technologies, Inc.” has developed a toilet aquarium. Your loneliness will be removed by live fishes that will swim in the toilet water-tank. The only thing you’ll need to do is to talk to a pet-shop employee that will help you to choose some kind of fishes that aren’t afraid of the loud noise of flushing water.
