How to: Place an Item on Ebay

Step 1: Make an eBay account, this is a very simple process, and requires you making a PayPal account also. You can start making your eBay account by clicking ‘register’ in the blue writing at the top of eBay’s home page.

Step 2: Take a professional photo of your item. Make sure the photo is not blurred, and that detail on the item can be seen clearly.

Step 3: Click ‘Sell’ on the top right hand side of the eBay homepage.

Step 4: Type in the name of your item, use attractive words such as ‘Lovely…’ or ‘Cute…’ to lure in the customers. Remember to tick the box – ‘Quick sell’

Step 4: Follow the easy steps, until you get ot Upload Photo

Step 5(i): Insert the disc from your camera device that has the photo you wish to upload. Click ‘Upload Photo’ and the ‘Browse’ 

Step 5 (ii): Click ‘My Computer‘ and click on your device and then on your desired photo.

Step 6: Description – Make sure everything in your description is correct. Remember to add in personal touches such as ‘Happy Bidding’ or ‘Good luck’, this tends to encourage buyers.

Step 7: To get your item on eBay for free start the listing at 99p (or under £1), remember to add a reasonable Postage and Packaging price. 

You should now be ready to click ‘Place Listing’
