Grocery Shopping From The Comfort of Your Own Home

Are you feeling under the weather? Not up to going out? Or maybe you have a busy schedule (kids, work, countless commitments) and simply want to save time? Imagine eliminating the need to go to the grocery store…

Times are truly changing, when once you could only expect to receive packages and milk delivered to your doorstep you can now conveniently have all your groceries dropped off without even stepping foot inside a store.
Many people might think the delivery charge for such a luxury would be out of this world, but it’s only between $7-13 per order. Plus, I just discovered that you can receive free delivery from some stores on your first order and then for up to 6 months afterwards if you place a certain dollar amount! Can you imagine the time you’ll save when you can simply order groceries from the comfort of your own home?
It’s also possible that you’ll also save money and your waistline when you order online as well. How? Because you’ll spend less time browsing every aisle, you won’t see certain items because online you’ll have to search for things by keyword. Thus, for example, you won’t be as likely to make those last minute impulse purchases at the checkout stand. There won’t be any stands lined with junk food staring back at you cajoling you to take one or two home. So right there, you’ve saved yourself a few dollars and a pant size.
Now, I do realize there are still advantages to shopping in person. There are many items, like fruit and special sales that won’t always be available or the same shopping online; however, the just having the option is still a great benefit to any working person, especially those with children. Think of how much time it takes to write up a grocery list, search the aisles, make sure your significant other or children don’t get lost in the mix and then wait in line to checkout. Oftentimes this entire process from your home to the store back to your home again can take up to 2 hours!
When you order online, you can shop for all your items in less then 20 minutes, save gas, time and the hassle of having to lug everything from your car to your home.
Today, I tried this for the first time. My delivery is set for tomorrow between 1-3pm. Because it was my first order, the delivery fee was waived.

I often see the supermarket delivery vans around where I live. I would definitely use online shopping if I was not able to go out myself. A good article.

This is a very interesting article. That would be great to be able to do your grocery shopping online if you couldn’t get to the store. That would be a way to save money too because you won’t see extra stuff that you didn’t intend to buy.

Its been over here for several years now and some people swear by it! The only problem I have is the actual selection of some produce….it’s nice to see before you buy, especially fresh produce.

This service has been available in UK for years. I don’t carry groceries anymore. I start my order on a Monday, add to it as I require other items, and at the end of the week I send it and the stuff is delivered.

Shop on line, No way–Do you really think im willing to give up driving around the parking lot for five minuts looking for a space thats not half a mile away. Then dodging cars to get to the store. Then wresting with the line of carts to get one loose that has a mind of it’s own–I want to go left but it goes right. Then I get to the produce department just in time to see someone sneeze all over the grapes I was going to get forget that.
and to go up one isle thats blocked by two old gents discussing something about fishing, the next isle has umteen kids running back and fourth screaming I wont this. Then i wait at the deli for five minuts while the clerk cleans the slicer, I enjoy standing in line at the pharmacy that tail ends down the detergent islle. I’d miss trying to check out in a mile long line at the only open register. No I would sorely miss this adventure that I often put off until I just have to face it.
thanks for the option anyway. LOL
