With the present growth rate of mobile phone subscription, it seems you can’t live without it anymore.

Before the end of 2008, mobile users worldwide will reach the four billion mark as predicted by Mr. Hamadoun Toure, the head of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). Almost 33% of global subscription will come from Brazil, India, Russia and China.
So far, China has the largest mobile phone users in the world reaching more than 600 million subscriptions followed by India with 296 million subscribers. According to Mr. Toure, growth of mobile subscription is averaging 24% since year 2000. The global penetration of mobile subscription is expected to be 50% by the end of this year and will likely grow to 60% by 2009. In 2000, mobile subscription penetration is only 12%, meaning only 12% of the global population owns a mobile phone.
At this rate, all individuals worldwide will carry a mobile phone in their pocket by the end of 2015… except babies ofcourse.
