Crosscut Hand Saw

A standing tree when cut horizontally carves out a cut which is known as cross cut. To make cross cuts there is a specific kind of saw known as crosscut hand saw. This type of saw is somewhat different from other saws as it has teeth which are made to cut trees at a specific angle of 90 degree with the grain of wood. These teeth are much sharpened and its edges are directed towards its back side. This design of tooth helps in cutting the wood faster and behaves like a knife to make cuts through the wood efficiently. The teeth of the crosscut hand saw are smaller in size but are more in numbers so they act quickly in making slices of the wood. Most of the cross cut saws have handle made of wood with its edge at 90 degree with the side of the wood that is not having teeth. This helps in marking the wood which is to be cut along that mark.

The crosscut hand saw is a very broad range of saws that includes saws which are used by carpenters for making furniture and also used in forest for making logs of wood. Bucking saws and felling ones also come in this category. The bucking saws are straight in shape and have a straight handle too. This kind of saw is used mostly for trees which are already knocked down thus more weight is require for making cuts through them and they also work as an alternative to saws that require two people to move them. There straight shape is very efficient for quick cutting of wood. A felling one is a very good crosscut hand saw for downing the standing trees. They are curved shape from the cutting side and quite lighter in weight for good movement while knocking down the trees.

The crosscut hand saw are the safest when compared to other types of saws because the control is within the human limit. The design to handle the saw and its movement allows very efficient handling. While on work they are easy to carry because of their light weight. Another good feature of crosscut hand saw is that they are very easy to maintain and does not require any special treatment except its teeth should be sharpen regularly. The working style of these saws is very favorable for manual use as compared to gasoline ones. In some areas the use of saw that are powered by gasoline is not allowed and thus crosscut hand saw are most in demand. These saws have been in use since ages and are the traditional way of cutting the wood. In some areas of America where the wood work is carried out, professional training is given to workers on how to work with the modern kind of crosscut hand saw. The motive of the training is to educate the workers understand the safe way of working with its blades.  As the usage is increasing at a rapid rate therefore this kind of training is very important for small time workers and people who work in forest.
