A list of everyday items that can cost you serious money.
In this day and age, it seems hanging on to the dollar is getting more difficult to do. We are constantly searching for ways to save a buck. Turning up the AC in the summer and weather stripping your home aren’t the only ways to save money. Did you know that some of the everyday items you use could be costing you in the long run?
Groceries
I remember when you could spend $50.00 in the grocery store and have enough food to last more than a week… not any more, the boxes are getting smaller and the prices are getting higher.

Kellogg Frosted Flakes, Frosted Mini-Wheats and Rice Krispies
They shrunk the box, but forgot to shrink the price

Hellmann’s Easy Out! Squeeze
Promised no mess, but what they forgot to tell us was that about 5 tablespoons didn’t make it out of the easy out bottle!

They didn’t put any sugar into them, but the calorie count is almost the same, and the price is almost doubled!

How can something possibly stay fresh when it’s enclosed in a plastic bag with no air? It can’t, it gets all slimy and stinky as it sits waiting to be purchased. Almost 85% is inedible.

Regarding the Automatic Shower Cleaner…you’ve obviously never lived in an area with VERY hard water. Elbow grease is fine and dandy. I don’t mind scrubbing up the tub and glass shower doors. I just don’t want to do it after EVERY SINGLE USE and that is what it would take with REALLY hard water. And it is no fun at all to spend a lot of time cleaning the shower to find that when it dries there is a thick film all over the glass.

Cool information! Thanks… Saving money is something I always try to do.. as far as the shower cleaner,as mentioned by the first comment, I have to agree with YOU, my wife spent $25.00 on one and it doesn’t do anything but create a bigger mess!

I agree with you & Jason about the shower cleaner. When I get in the shower I don`t want my hot water splashing me with some gunk left hanging on the shower walls.YUCK.
If you have hard water, put a little Pledge (or any polishing wax) on your shower walls and buff it. It will repel water and prevent stains.

I agree food prices and so on are extortionate, but there’s a worlwide food shortage going on (not that the news really reports it). The problem is only going to get worse and prices are only going to go up; try growing your own veg.

I have to disagree with you about the Dyson. This sounds like a blurb straight from Consumer Reports actually. My mother and my sister both have Dyson vacuums and I have never seen anything do any better. They both have dogs as well as small children visiting quite often. The Dyson picks it all up.

I use arm & hammer whitening toothpaste, and it DOES work, and it really isn’t that much more expensive. I think a real waste of money is electric toothbrushes. Why would you pay money for a toothbrush so that you could pay more money for the batteries that power a movement you are going to make anyways with your hand. D’UH.
Plus electric toothbrushes will actually ruin your enamel,especially sonicare. Don’t believe me ask your dentist.
And as for the Dyson vacuum, are you seriously willing to pay 4-600 dollars for a vacuum cleaner. Are you out of your minds. Even after your done vacuuming, your bound to shed loads of skin cells and hair anyways. I would invest in steam cleaning your carpets atleast once a year.
