How Really Important is List-making

Whereever I go, Whatever I do, a list invariable precedes most of my activities. Be it a holiday, groceries, appointments, diet planner, shopping, chores, etc. etc. For anything and everything, there is always a LIST leading me forward. List-Making is important, here’s why:

How Really Important is List-Making. Very! Proof of claim below:

Organization:  Making a list is a superb way of getting set to do something.  It helps to de-clutter and arrange  things in a more functional manner.  It’s  great way to get started with organizing yourself – setting your goals and planning how to go about  achieving them.

Stress busting:  Planning and preparation is useful in ordering any activity and making it less chaotic! Even a simple list like, “Things To Do Today”, is effective in reducing the stress that builds up from keeping it all in the mind only.

Enhances Performance: Writing down activities makes them more concrete. When you write a list, it gives you a clear perspective of your goals. Putting it down on paper means greater visibility, which in turns means, higher chance of getting the task over and done with! A list plays an important role in enhancing your performance and ensuring task completion.

Helps to Prioritise: A list will show you more clearly how you can go about an activity to attain optimal results. You can plan more effectively which tasks are more important to tackle first and so on.

You don’t have to worry about forgetting: Once your list is made, it acts as a record which you can refer to at any time. So you don’t have to try to remember anymore.

Prevents procrastination: When the points are written out in a list, there is more likelihood of you doing it now rather than forever leaving it for a future date.

Feel good factor: Last but not the least, Ticking off a task on your list as completed gives you a wonderful sense of accomplishment and leaves you feeling good for it!

So, what you waiting for? Get going…Happy List Making. Cheers!

Maybe there is a list for procrastination. I wonder what it would look like. : ) Thanks for reminding me to do a list or two now. I’m juggling priorities.
