Why do we hate someone? There could be many reasons for us to hate someone. Hatred is different from anger. Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure, while hatred is an intense aversion that comes from anger, fear and hurt. We hate someone when they hurt us physically or verbally. We will hate someone if they hurt our feelings. In short, we will hate people who try to harm our lives.

When people don’t fulfill our expectations we may hate them. We will hate people who are potential threats to our romantic relationships. We may hate people who have insulted us in the past.  Besides, a person may hate most people around them if the structural design of their brain is weak. That’s why sensitive people hate others quickly and start living in isolation throughout their lives.

Hatred followed by disappointments: If you love someone truly and if they ignore you continuously for a long period, you may start hating them at one point of time. That’s why when they realize their mistakes and try to win you back, you may not respond.

Why shouldn’t we hate? Hatred as you know is a negative emotion. As long as you hate someone, it affects your peace and overall efficiency. Believe me, you can’t derive even a single benefit from hatred. On the other hand hatred could affect your life in many ways.

How to avoid hating others: Forgiving is the best medicine for hatred. Time heals all sorrows and pains. Forget the mistakes of others with all your heart; it will help you to remove your stress. Even if someone has hurt you badly, it’s better to forget their mistakes and forgive them. If you do regular meditation, you will be able to forgive others easily. You can stop hating people who have hurt you.

Summary: Hatred is a negative emotion that should be avoided. It’s easy to hate someone. It’s not easy to forgive someone who has hurt you. However, it’s always better to forget the mistakes of others and forgive them. It will help you to live a peaceful and happy life for ever. Thanks for reading.

  11. Hate is more hurtful to us than to the one we hold in hate. Your suggestion of meditation is a good one. I would add prayer to that. I love scripture and what is helping me through a really deep hurt right now is to remember that Jesus was brutally murdered for doing nothing more than loving people.

  16. My late mom told me to forgive who may hurt me but never forget what they did that caused the hurt. That way they never get another chance to do what happened again in the future.I learned what mom meant years later over my first major broken heart. But hating anyone can be destructive and not good so forgiveness in some form is a very good idea.Life is to short to have regrets and spend a lifetime hating someone .
